TABLE OF CONTENTS
I. Blocked Camera or Microphone
If the error text below is displayed when trying to join a Boardable Video conferencing session, this means the browser's security settings block Boardable Video from accessing the camera or microphone.
Unblock your camera and microphone
To fix the problem, complete the instructions provided by the pop out.
II. Video blurring or Audio Delay / Lag
This is often caused by low bandwidth. Often, blurring is brief and resolves without intervention. If delays or blurred video feeds persist over time, please review the network capacity:
Click Network from the meeting options menu at the bottom of the conferencing screen
Meeting information panel opens on the right side of the conferencing screen, set to the Network tab
If this displays a network quality other than good, the experience of the call can be improved by switching to a different network connection.
III. Distorted Audio
When a participant’s audio feed sounds garbled, choppy, robotic, or under water, they can improve this by disabling a setting called Noise reduction.
This setting is enabled by default for all participants. This is because for most, its only effect is to reduce sounds other than the participant’s voice which may be captured by their mic, such as nearby traffic, voices from another room, etc.
For a small number of devices, though, this setting can also distort the audio, causing the participant’s voice to cut in and out.
To disable this setting, and fix the issue:
Join a Boardable Video meeting
Click the gear icon (⚙︎)from the top left side of the video conferencing screen
Boardable Video settings menu opens
Click the toggle beneath Noise reduction to turn this off
IV. No Join Meeting Button
Meeting pages set up to use Boardable Video contain a blue Join Meeting button at the top right side of the page.
If this button is missing from a meeting page, this means that to use Boardable Video, the meeting needs to be edited.
To do so:
Navigate to the meeting page
Click Edit Meeting Info (the button showing a pencil on paper at the top right side of the page)
If prompted, choose either Edit this meeting (to edit a single meeting) or Edit Full Series (to edit a recurring series)
Click Location and Video
Click Boardable Video beneath Video
Save the change:
To save without sending email update notifications, and without changing invitees' calendar events, click Save
To save and send all invitees email update notifications which apply edits to invitees' calendar events, click Save and Notify Invitees
V. Incorrect Calendar Event Information
If the Boardable Video is the desired video conferencing platform, but another platform (such as Zoom) is listed on the calendar event, this means the meeting needs to be edited to use Boardable video.
This can only be done by an admin, meeting creator / owner, or meeting collaborator.
To do so:
