Manage Boardable Video Participants

Learn how Boardable Video Admins can administer the participant list, and the microphones and cameras of video conferencing participants

I. View Raised Hands

To see which participants have used the raise hand feature to request speaking time:

  1. Click People from the meeting options menu at the bottom of the conferencing screen

    1. The names of all participants are listed in the meeting information panel on the left side of the conferencing screen

  2. The raised hand icon is displayed next to the names of participants with hands raised

To view the order in which a participant raised their hand relative to others with raised hands, look to the top left corner of a participant's video tile. This displays the raised hand icon alongside a number. The number indicates the participant's queue order.

II. Promote and Demote Participants

Boardable Video Admins can promote any participant from Boardable Video Attendee to Boardable Video Admin. This promotion applies only to the active Boardable Video Conferencing session.

To do so:

  1. Join a Boardable Video Conferencing Session

  2. Click People from the meeting options menu at the bottom of the conferencing screen

    1. Meeting information panel opens on the right side of the conferencing screen, set to the People tab

  3. Click the ellipsis (...) to the right of the desired participant's name

    1. Options drop down

  4. Click Make admin

    1. Participant selected during step 3 is promoted to Boardable Video Admin for the current Boardable Video Conferencing session

A manually promoted participant can also be demoted from Boardable Video Admin to Boardable Video Attendee.

This cannot be done for any participant who is a Boardable Video Admin due to their account or meeting role; organization admins, meeting owners, and meeting collaborators can only be Boardable Video Admins and hosts.

To demote a manually promoted participant:

  1. Join a Boardable Video Conferencing Session

  2. Click People from the meeting options menu at the bottom of the conferencing screen

    1. Meeting information panel opens on the right side of the conferencing screen, set to the People tab

  3. Click the ellipsis (...) to the right of the desired participant's name

    1. Options drop down

  4. Click Revoke admin

    1. Participant selected during step 3 is promoted to Boardable Video Admin for the current Boardable Video Conferencing session

II. Mute Participants

Boardable Video Admins can temporarily mute the microphone of any other participant, including other admins.

Once a participant is muted by an admin, the same admin cannot unmute them. The participant can unmute their own microphone from the meeting options menu on their conferencing screen. To learn how to do so, please see Related Articles.

To mute a participant:

  1. Join a Boardable Video Conferencing Session

  2. Click People from the meeting options menu at the bottom of the conferencing screen

    1. Meeting information panel opens on the right side of the conferencing screen, set to the People tab

  3. Click the ellipsis (...) to the right of the desired participant's name

    1. Options drop down

  4. Click Mute Microphone

    1. Participant selected during step 3 is muted

    2. The muted microphone symbol appears next to this participant's name on the People tab list

III. Turn Off Participants' Cameras

Boardable Video Admins can temporarily turn off the camera of any other participant, including other admins.

Once a participant's camera is turned off by an admin, the same admin cannot turn their camera back on.

The participant can turn on their own camera from the meeting options menu on their conferencing screen. To learn how to do so, please see Related Articles.

To turn of participants' cameras:

  2. Click People from the meeting options menu at the bottom of the conferencing screen

    1. Meeting information panel opens on the right side of the conferencing screen, set to the People tab

  3. Click the ellipsis (...) to the right of the desired participant's name

    1. Options drop down

  4. Click Turn off camera

    1. Camera for participant selected during step 3 is turned off

    2. The camera-off symbol appears next to this participant's name on the People tab list

IV. Remove Participants from Call

Boardable Video Admins can remove any participant from a conferencing session, including other admins.

When a participant is removed from a call, the video and camera feeds of other participants are temporarily inaccessible. The removed participant can continue to view the agenda and meeting documents via the meeting content panel on the left side of the conferencing screen.

The video panel in the center of the conferencing screen displays a Rejoin Meeting button. Removed participants can use this button to access the meeting again. To learn how to permanently remove a user from a meeting, please see Related Articles.

To remove a participant:

  1. Join a Boardable Video Conferencing Session

  2. Click People from the meeting options menu at the bottom of the conferencing screen

    1. Meeting information panel opens on the right side of the conferencing screen, set to the People tab

  3. Click the ellipsis (...) to the right of the desired participant's name

    1. Options drop down

  4. Click Remove Participant from Call

    1. Participant selected during step 3 is removed

    2. Removed participant's name is no longer listed in the People tab
