August 2026

Everything we released in August 2026: SAML SSO, AI-drafted and custom-formatted agendas, a faster way to build long agendas, and a round of fixes.

Monday, August 31

Per-member controls for the AI Email Assistant beta, plus fixes across Approval Workflows, Live Display, the Agenda Builder, and Meeting Minutes PDFs.

Per-member nudge activation (AI Email Assistant beta)

Admins can now turn on proactive nudges — unread materials, overdue tasks, missing RSVPs — for individual members instead of for the whole organization at once.

  • Nudges stay off until an admin activates them for a specific person
  • Activation state is visible on the AI Dashboard, so it is clear at a glance who has nudges turned on
  • Available to organizations participating in the Agentic Email Assistant beta

Beta labeling for the AI Email Assistant (AI Email Assistant beta)

AI-generated email responses now carry a short disclaimer, and the AI Dashboard is labeled as beta in the app.

  • Every AI email response ends with: “This response was generated by Boardable’s Email Assistant (beta). Please verify important details.”
  • In Gmail, and possibly other email clients, the disclaimer can visually collapse into the existing signature line

Resolved Issues

  • Editing a published agenda that uses an Approval Workflow no longer leaves items stuck pending with no approver assigned. The full approver list now carries over to the new version, admins and meeting owners can reopen an item that is already stuck to return it to draft, and items previously left in that state have been repaired.
  • Motions added in the admin meeting view now appear in Live Display and can be opened for voting on previously created meetings, not only newly created ones.
  • Deleting an agenda item in the legacy Agenda Builder now triggers the Publish Updates prompt, so the Agenda PDF, Board Packet, and Member Meeting Page stay in sync with what admins see in the editor.
  • The Meeting Prep dropdown no longer duplicates the Save As Template and Clear Agenda actions for organizations on the new Agenda Builder. Those actions now live only in the Agenda Builder, removing a source of accidental agenda clears.
  • Paragraph breaks typed inside a Meeting Minutes table cell are now preserved when the minutes are exported to PDF. This is a go-forward fix — minutes already saved with the collapsed formatting need a small edit and re-save to pick up the correction.
  • Pasted text carrying hidden formatting no longer renders at a larger font size in the Meeting Minutes PDF than it does in the editor. This is also a go-forward fix, so affected minutes need to be re-edited and re-saved.

Wednesday, August 26

This release brought enterprise sign-on, more control over how agendas look, and a new way to start an agenda from scratch.

SAML SSO (Pro and Pro Plus)

Organizations can now sign in to Boardable through their existing identity provider.

  • Supports Okta, Azure AD, Google Workspace, OneLogin, and Ping Identity
  • New users are created automatically as Members on their first successful login
  • Optional password fallback for Admins
  • SAML SSO is rolling out gradually — contact your Customer Success Manager to have it enabled for your organization

Custom Formatting for Agendas

Meeting organizers can now customize how agendas appear in PDFs and Board Packets.

  • A new Format page for meeting agendas and agenda templates
  • Customize fonts, sizing, spacing, margins, headers, and footers
  • Upload a logo to a template or directly to an agenda; logos can be swapped or removed, and now appear in the in-app view, not just the PDF
  • Choose whether to display duration, timeline, descriptions, documents, and presenters
  • Available to Admins and Members with Owner permissions

Draft an Agenda with AI (Pro Plus only)

Generate a new agenda from a prompt, an existing agenda, an uploaded document, or an agenda template.

  • Includes an AI chat with a live preview of the agenda as it is built
  • Template formatting carries over when you start from a template
  • Available only when the meeting does not already have an agenda; editing an existing agenda with AI is not included in this release

Resolved Issues

  • Agenda items no longer stay stuck in Draft or Rejected, or revert from Completed to Draft, after their Approval Tree is removed. Once the tree is removed, the item behaves like a standard agenda item.

Friday, August 21

A time-saver for building long agendas, plus fixes to exports, approvals, pasted text, and templates.

“Save and Create New” in the Agenda Builder

Every agenda item modal — new items, edits, and sub-items — now includes a Save and Create New button that saves your work and immediately opens a new item, so you can build a long agenda without scrolling back to the top each time.

Resolved Issues

  • People Directory exports now match the filters on screen (group, name or email search, invite status, or any combination). A filter combination with no matches produces no file instead of an error, and exporting with no filters still includes everyone.
  • Approval Trees can no longer be saved without at least one approver, which previously left agenda items stuck “In Review” indefinitely. Existing empty trees can no longer be selected. If you have an item currently stuck in review with no approver, contact Support.
  • Text pasted into an agenda item description keeps its spacing and paragraph breaks through save, re-edit, and reload.
  • Applying an agenda template now reliably adds its items, instead of showing a success message without adding anything.

Friday, August 14

A cleaner starter template, restartable approvals, and Google Drive attachments that work the first time.

Standard Board Meeting template

New organizations now start with a single Standard Board Meeting agenda template instead of the previous multi-template set.

  • Available to all new organizations on all plans
  • Demonstrates all three levels of agenda hierarchy — top-level sections (Call to Order, Consent Agenda, Reports, Old Business, New Business, Adjournment), items, and sub-items
  • Deleting the template does not affect meetings or agendas already built from it

Restart approvals on rejected agenda items

Meeting owners and Admins can now restart the approval process on a rejected agenda item, whether or not they are part of the approval chain. Both Restart from Beginning and Restart from Rejection are available. Previously only the agenda item owner could restart an approval chain, which left workflows stuck whenever that person was unavailable.

Resolved Issues

  • Google Drive attachments now work in the new Agenda Builder. The Agenda Builder recognizes an existing Google Drive integration, so you can browse and attach files without being prompted to reconnect.
  • Clicking Add item in an agenda template now opens the same selection modal used in meetings, with From scratch, From org template, and From my template options.

Thursday, August 6

Fixes for document quality in Governance Forms and dashboard message spacing.

Resolved Issues

  • Documents in Governance Forms no longer render with fuzzy, lower-quality text — both when uploading a document to create a form and when downloading a submitted form.
  • Extra space at the bottom of the Org Message card has been removed. Trailing empty paragraphs left behind by the message editor are stripped automatically, while intentional blank lines within the message are preserved.

Sunday, August 2

Updates to the member dashboard and to the login and sign-up experience.

Refreshed Org Logo and Org Message layout

The member dashboard now presents your organization’s logo and Org Message in a single bordered, rounded card that displays side by side on wider screens and stacks vertically on smaller ones.

  • Logos render larger and cleaner, with the maximum height raised from 120px to 200px
  • Org Message text has improved spacing and formatting for paragraphs, lists, and links

Relocated region selector on login and sign-up

The data region selector was moved so it is easier to find without scrolling.

  • On the trial sign-up page it now sits directly beneath the header with a “Select Data Region” label and an explanatory tooltip
  • The login page gained a “Data Region” label and tooltip next to the selector, SSO login options were reordered higher in the flow, and the magic-link button styling was updated
