Change meeting details or cancel a meeting altogether

Before You Begin: To edit or delete a meeting you must be an admin, a meeting owner, or a meeting collaborator.
I. Edit a Meeting
- Select the Meetings tab, then select the meeting you want to edit.
- Select the edit (✏️) icon.
- Make your changes to the appropriate field(s) and then select Next to save your work.
Note: If you've already invited attendees to a meeting, changing the details of that meeting will trigger an email notification alerting invitees to your changes. These emails cannot be disabled. To prevent unwanted notifications, edit your meeting details before sending invitations.
II. Delete a Single Meeting
When you delete a meeting you delete all of its content including any tasks, polls, or agendas you may have created. Deleted meetings cannot be restored.
If you delete a meeting to which people have been invited, they will receive a notification by email and the event will be removed from their calendars.
- Select the Meetings tab, then select the meeting you want to delete.
- Select More actions (⋮) and then select Delete Meeting.
- Optional: Add a message to explain the cancellation.
Deleted meetings are moved to the Deleted tab on the Meetings page. Here you can refer to meeting details such as title, date and time, and invited guests. Records of deleted meetings cannot be expunged from this tab.
III. Delete Meetings In a Multi-Day Event
- Select the Meetings tab, then select the multi-day meeting you want to change.
- Select the edit (✏️) icon.
- Select the Date and Time tab.
- Select X next to the day you want to cancel.
- Select Next and then select Save.
Note: You cannot add a custom message when canceling one meeting in a multi-day event.
IV. Delete a Recurring Series
To delete all upcoming meetings in a recurring series:
- Select the Meetings tab, then select the recurring meeting you want to delete.
- Select More actions (⋮) and then select View meeting series.
- Select the wastebasket (🗑️).
- Select Delete.
Note: You cannot add custom cancellation text when deleting a series; this is only possible when deleting individual meetings within a series. To do this, follow the procedure to delete a single meeting.
V. Troubleshooting
Q. Can I bulk delete past meetings in a recurring series?
A. No. The wastebasket/delete button is not available on past or same-day meetings. To delete past meetings in a series, follow the procedure to delete a single meeting.
Q. Can I remove a meeting from invitees' dashboards and calendars without deleting its tasks and polls?
A. Yes, remove the invitees instead of deleting the meeting. To do so, edit the meeting, select the Invitees tab, and then select the people you want to remove.
Q. Can I change a single-date meeting into a multi-date meeting or recurring series?
A. No. You must delete the one-time meeting and recreate it as a multi-day meeting or series.
Q. Can I add schedule options (i.e., propose several dates or times) to a meeting I've already created?
A. No, you must delete and recreate the meeting.
