Before You Begin
Public Site subscriptions allow members of the public to stay informed about meetings without repeatedly checking an organization’s Public Site. By subscribing, users receive email notifications when meetings, agendas, or meeting details are published or updated for specific committees.
This feature is designed to increase transparency and engagement by giving subscribers control over which committees they follow and when they receive updates. Subscriptions are managed entirely through email and the Public Site, and subscribers do not need a Boardable account.
Committees on the Public Site are based on groups in Boardable. Admins do not create Public Site committees separately. Instead, a committee becomes available for subscription when a group is added to a meeting that is published to the Public Site. Once published, that group appears as a committee option for public subscribers.
This approach ensures that only groups actively hosting public meetings appear on the subscription page and helps prevent outdated or inactive committees from being listed.
Prerequisites
Before subscribing to Public Site updates, the following conditions must be met:
-
The organization has Public Site enabled
-
At least one meeting has been published to the Public Site
-
The committee (group) has been added to a Public Site meeting
Subscribe to Public Site Updates
Follow these steps to subscribe to Public Site notifications:
-
Open the organization’s Public Site.
-
Select Subscribe to updates at the bottom of the Public Site home page.
-
Enter your email address.
-
Select one or more committees you want to follow.
-
To receive updates for all current and future committees, select All. Selecting All creates a rolling subscription that automatically includes new committees as they publish meetings to the Public Site.
-
-
Select Subscribe.
-
The email field only accepts valid email addresses.
Confirm Your Subscription
After submitting the subscription form:
-
Check your email inbox for a confirmation message.
-
Select the confirmation link in the email.
-
You only need to confirm an email address once.
-
If you change the subscription email address later, a new confirmation email is required.
After confirmation, you receive an email summary that includes:
-
The committees you subscribed to
-
A secure link to manage your subscription settings
Public Site Notification Types
Subscribers receive email notifications for the following events within their selected committees:
-
A meeting is published to the Public Site
-
A published meeting is changed (date, time, or location)
-
An agenda is published
-
A published agenda is updated
Manage Your Subscription Settings
You can manage your subscription preferences at any time:
-
Open any Public Site notification email.
-
Select Manage your subscription.
-
Update your committee selections or email preferences.
-
Select Update.
-
The Update button remains inactive until a change is made.
-
A confirmation message appears after changes are saved.
-
The subscription management page is only accessible through the secure link in subscription emails and cannot be accessed directly from the Public Site.
Group Availability in Subscriptions
Only committees that have previously published at least one meeting to the Public Site appear as subscription options.
-
If a new committee publishes a Public Site meeting later, it automatically becomes available for subscription.
-
Subscribers can return to the subscription settings page to add newly available committees.
-
To remove a committee from subscription options entirely, all Public Site meetings for that group must be removed.
Tip: Adding a group to a Public Site meeting automatically makes that committee available for public subscription.
Troubleshooting

-
Check your spam or junk folder.

Confirm that you selected the confirmation link after subscribing.
-
Verify that the committee has published a meeting to the Public Site.
