Before You Begin

Task reminders notify users by email and in-app before each task’s due date. These reminders help users stay aware of upcoming deadlines.

Members and observers can manage their own task reminder settings, while admins can manage reminders for themselves and other users.

Reminders apply to all assigned tasks—there is no option to enable or disable them for specific tasks.

Available reminder frequencies include:

  • 1 day before due date

  • 2 days before due date

  • 3 days before due date

  • 4 days before due date

  • 5 days before due date

When both immediate email notifications and task reminders are enabled, the system sends an email to the login address and any additional addresses listed in user settings.

Each reminder includes:

  • The message “Just a friendly reminder about your upcoming task”

  • The task title and due date

  • A link to the task page


Enable or Disable Reminders for Yourself

Members, observers, and admins can adjust their own task reminder settings.

  1. Click your profile picture or gray silhouette in the upper right corner.

  2. Select User Settings.

  3. Click Settings.

  4. Expand the Task Reminders dropdown.

  5. Choose your preferred reminder frequency.

    • To disable reminders, select Never.

    • To enable reminders, select any option other than Never.

  6. Click Save.

Once saved, reminders for all assigned tasks will be sent according to the chosen timeline.


Enable or Disable Reminders for Others

Admins can modify task reminder settings for other users.

  1. Log in to Boardable.

  2. Click People from the main navigation panel.

  3. Select the name of the person whose reminder settings you want to edit.

  4. Click Edit.

  5. Select Settings.

  6. Expand the Task Reminders dropdown.

  7. Choose the desired reminder frequency.

    • To disable reminders, select Never.

    • To enable reminders, select any option other than Never.

  8. Click Save.

Once saved, reminders for all tasks assigned to that user will be sent based on the selected frequency.


Troubleshooting

  • Didn’t receive reminders?
    Check your spam folder or ensure your notification email addresses are up to date in User Settings.

  • Receiving duplicate emails?
    You may have both immediate notifications and reminders enabled. Adjust your reminder frequency or disable one option.

  • Can’t change another user’s reminders?
    Confirm you have admin permissions. Only admins can edit other users’ reminder settings.
