Before You Begin

User Settings allow you to manage your personal information, preferences, and integrations. You can update contact details, control notification frequency, adjust timezone and language, and connect to third-party tools such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Drive.


Access User Settings

  1. Log in to Boardable.

  2. Click your profile image in the top-right corner.

  3. Select User Settings from the drop-down menu.

The Settings page includes four tabs:

  • Profile — personal and contact information

  • Settings — timezone, language, notifications, and reminders

  • Login and Password — login email, password, and two-factor authentication

  • Integrations — connect Zoom, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive/SharePoint, or Google Drive


Profile

The Profile tab includes the following sections:

  • Shared Info – name, board role, title, company, pronouns, and About section

    • Tip: Parentheses are not supported in the About field; use brackets [ ] instead.

    • Custom pronouns appear beside your name in the People directory.

  • Contact Info – email address, phone number, and social media links (X, Facebook, LinkedIn)

  • Profile Image – upload or remove your profile picture

  • Location – visible only to Organization Admins; includes address and phone

  • DEI – Race, Gender, Education, Age, and Date of Birth fields

  • Custom Data Collection – additional fields defined by admins

To update your profile:

  1. Go to Profile in the Settings menu.

  2. Select the relevant section (Shared Info, Contact Info, etc.).

  3. Edit the desired fields.

  4. Click Save.


Settings: Timezone, Language, and Notifications

The Settings tab controls how your account interacts with meetings, notifications, and reminders.

Available options:

  • Timezone – defines how meeting times display in your personal calendar.

  • Language – sets your preferred interface language.

  • Notifications – sets frequency for email updates on discussions, polls, and tasks.

    • Add additional notification addresses (separated by commas).

    • Meeting invites and updates are always sent immediately to your login email.

  • Meeting Reminders – choose how many days before a meeting to receive reminders (Never–5 days).

  • Task Reminders – choose how many days before a task to receive reminders (Never–5 days).

To update your settings:

  1. Click Settings in the menu.

  2. Choose your Timezone and Language.

  3. Set your Notification frequency.

  4. Add any Additional Email Addresses (must differ from your login email).

  5. Select your Meeting and Task Reminder preferences.

  6. Click Save.

Note: Using your login email as an additional address will cause duplicate notifications.


Login and Password

Manage your login credentials and security features from this tab.

Available options:

  • Update your Login Email Address

  • Change your Password

  • Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

To update login or password:

  1. Go to User Settings > Login and Password.

  2. Update the desired field(s).

  3. Click Save.

  4. (Optional) Click Enable Two-Factor Authentication for added security.

Only users can update their own login email address; admins cannot change this on behalf of others.


Integrations

Connect external applications to your Boardable account.

Available integrations:

  • Zoom

  • Microsoft Teams

  • OneDrive / SharePoint

  • Google Drive

To connect an integration:

  1. Navigate to User Settings > Integrations.

  2. Click Connect under the desired integration.

  3. Follow the prompts to complete authorization.


Troubleshooting

  • Profile Save Errors: Replace parentheses with brackets [ ] in the About section.

  • Duplicate Emails: Ensure your notification email is different from your login email.

  • Zoom Not Connecting: Confirm you’re signed into the correct Zoom account before linking.
