Manage Tax Status

Learn how to setup the organization as tax exempt (or not) and where to edit the state tax exemption number.

I. Tax Status

Tax Status can be selected when the account details for the organization are first setup.

Only Organization Admins (users with Account Role of Administrator) can update subscription / tax information through the Boardable platform.

Note: the Yes / No tax status option is only available when the account is being setup; If something changes or the option was not properly selected, please contact success@boardable.com.

To select the proper tax status when first setting up the organization:

  1. Click Subscription from the main menu panel

  2. Click the Choose Plan button that coincides with the subscription plan desired

    1. The Your order pop-up appears displaying what was selected along with the cost

  3. Click Proceed to Checkout

    1. The Add your account details pop-up displays

  4. Click on the Pick an option arrow under Sales Tax Exempt

    1. Click Yes or No (Yes if the organization is tax exempt and No if it is not)

    2. Enter the State Tax Exemption Number (if available) and click Next

  5. Complete the following screens to complete the plan sign up

II. Tax Exemption Number

The tax exemption number can be entered at anytime and is optional.

Only Organization Admins (user with Account Role of Administrator) can update subscription / tax information through the Boardable platform.

To add or edit the tax exemption number after the organization plan setup is complete:

  1. Click Subscription from the main menu panel to view the Subscription Dashboard

  2. Click the Add/Edit Payment Methods button

    1. A window will pop-up displaying the current payment method

  3. Click Payment Methods at the top of the pop-up window

  4. Click Account Information

  5. Click Sales Tax Exempt Number on the Account Details pop-up

  6. Enter the sales tax exempt number in the box provided on the Update your account details pop-up

    1. Note: the Sales Tax Exempt Number cannot be removed once saved, only edited

    2. Click Update

  7. The Account Details pop-up will display the updated information

    1. Click the x to close the pop-up window once satisfied
