Before You Begin
Deactivating a user in Boardable removes their ability to log in or access any organization materials while retaining their historical contributions. This ensures that meeting records, comments, and ownership of tasks or discussions remain intact for audit and reporting purposes.
Use this feature when someone leaves your organization or no longer requires access to Boardable.
Prerequisites
-
You must be assigned an Admin in Boardable.
Deactivate a User
-
From the main navigation menu, select People.
-
In the People directory, check the box next to each user you want to deactivate.
-
A count of selected users appears at the top of the page.
-
-
Click Deactivate in the pop-up menu.
-
Click Submit to confirm deactivation.

What Happens When You Deactivate a User
The user loses:
-
Access to the Boardable platform
-
Access to meetings they created or were invited to
-
Visibility in attendee lists
The system retains:
-
The user’s name as creator of meetings, tasks, or discussions
-
All comments, poll responses, and task history
-
Calendar events for meetings they created (still visible to other invitees)
-
The ability to re-invite the user using the same email address
Reactivate a User
If a user needs access again, you can reactivate their account without creating a new profile.
-
Select People from the main navigation menu.
-
Click the Invite Status dropdown near the top of the directory.

-
Select Deactivated from the dropdown menu.
-
Check the box next to each user you want to reactivate.
-
Click Reactivate at the top of the page.
Troubleshooting
-
If a deactivated user still appears in an attendee list, refresh the meeting page to update participant visibility.
-
Reactivation restores access immediately; if a user cannot log in, ensure they are using the same email address as their original profile.
