Hyperlinks allow access to an external website link without cluttering up valuable agenda space with a long URL. Adding a hyperlink to an agenda item can be done two ways:

Both options require first navigating to the agenda item that needs a hyperlink by clicking on the item to bring it into the right side editing panel

I. Highlighting text to add a link

  1. Inside the right-hand editing panel, highlight the word(s) within the description that require(s) a hyperlink

  2. While the text is highlighted, click the chain icon at the top of the Description box to open the Insert/Edit Link window

  3. In the Insert/Edit Link window type the desired hyperlink URL destination into the URL field. The Text to display field will be pre-populated with the highlighted text

  4. The Title field may be left blank

  5. Under Open link in... click the drop-down menu to select whether the hyperlink will open the current browser window or in a new window. Note: opening a link in a new window is recommended

  6. Click Save

  7. Observe the hyperlink in the agenda item description, it will appear as blue text

  8. When edits and/or additions to the agenda item are completed, click Save at the bottom of the edit panel

II. Adding the URL and link text manually

  1. After clicking into the appropriate agenda item, inside the right-hand editing panel click the chain icon at the top of the Description box to open the Insert/Edit Link window

  2. In the Insert/Edit Link window type the desired hyperlink URL destination into the URL field, and type the display text that should contain the hyperlink in the Text to display field

    1. After entering the URL into the URL field, that same web address will automatically populate in the Text to display field. It will need to be edited if text other than the URL itself is to be displayed, as shown in the example below

  3. The Title field may be left blank

  4. Under Open link in... click the drop-down menu to select whether the hyperlink will open the current browser window or in a new window. Note: opening a link in a new window is recommended

  5. Click Save

  6. Observe the hyperlink in the agenda item description, it will appear as blue text and will be placed in the location of the cursor

  7. If the hyperlink needs to be moved to a different location in the agenda item description, it may be cut and/or copied and pasted

    1. To cut or remove the hyperlink from its current location, highlight the display text containing the hyperlink and use the keys Ctrl + X (for Windows users), or command + X (for Mac users)

    2. To paste the text, place the cursor in the desired location and use the keys Ctrl + V (for Windows users), or command + V (for Mac users)

  8. When edits and/or additions to the agenda item are completed, click Save at the bottom of the edit panel
